What is super aggregation? And why exactly is it so super?

These are questions scholars have long pondered, but, lucky for all of us, DIRECTV had these answers and wanted to communicate them through a series of videos.

Our mission was to create five :60s, five :30s, and five :15s about five different aspects of how DIRECTV brings (aggregates) all your TV needs together in a (super) helpful way.

The result was a new look for the brand and some exceptionally hard working and flexibly leveraged videos.

Know thy brand

 

When I reflect on this project, the biggest skill I sharpened was in-depth, might-know-more-than-the-clients-do product knowledge. From every tiny carousel on the TV UI to about 14 different TV packages to the ins and outs of satellite use, this project was all about really getting to know a brand. After talking to software engineers and a whole slew of different specialists, I have absolutely gained a

new respect for product minutia. Moreover, I have a newfound insight into how to translate all that minutia into something customers will actually appreciate. All of this niche knowledge even culminated in me anxiously directing our talent on what buttons to push on the remote (as seen in the middle photo below).
