Play for everyone

 

Free gaming for everyone. It’s an ambitious idea. And yet, for our second collaboration with Google Stadia, we got to announce that this idea had become a reality.

Through the creation of a new tagline, “Play for Everyone,” we set out to celebrate the future-facing vision of Stadia as a democratizing force that helps everyone access gaming.

Produced and filmed in April of 2020, this was the first spot I ever worked on completely virtually due to the COVID-19 guidelines that were in place at the time.

Pivot! Pivot! Pivot!

 

Pivoting from a live action spot, with a completely different script, to an entirely remote production and post production (in the middle of a global pandemic) was an act of flexibility to say the least.

Powering through edit softwares that were meant for one or two people max, watching hours upon hours of gameplay to find the most exciting moments, and pursuing three different edits all at once from my dining room table was a hell of a learning experience.

In the end, to help reach discerning gamers, we decided to go all in on the best part of gaming: games. Gamers have been boisterously skeptical about cloud gaming, and yet excited about the potential of platforms like Stadia.

Our aim was simply to get these gamers excited enough to try Stadia. Through the “Play for Everyone” campaign’s incredible offer to gamers, we helped bring Stadia even more brand recognition among hardcore fans and non-believers alike.
